Deploying the AppsAnywhere Appliance


AppsAnywhere servers are provided as a virtual appliances, so they must be imported into customer environments to create new servers. The AppsAnywhere team will then connect and complete the configuration.

Additional AppsAnywhere servers can be added to an environment by importing the virtual appliance multiple times.

Importing the Virtual Appliance

The current appliance is available to download from Latest Releases within the AppsAnywhere Support portal and a number of formats are available.

Note: The Amazon AWS build is configured by default with the following enabled/configured:

  1. Networking and DHCP enabled by default.

  2. Unrestricted SSH access.

  3. The setup user account is allowed SSH access.

  4. Amazon SSM Agent installed and enabled.

Due to the above it is advisable that a security group is linked to the EC2 instance that restricts access via SSH/22 to specific IP addresses/ranges.

First-time Configuration

Once your appliance is up and running, there are a few additional first-time configuration steps required via the built-in Appliance Configuration Console. These include the network configuration of the appliance and enabling SSH access.

Once servers are online and accessible to the AppsAnywhere team, a time will be arranged to complete the configuration of AppsAnywhere.
