Version 2.7.0
Release Date: March 2026
Windows App Support
AppsAnywhere Client 2.7.0 introduces support for Windows App as a replacement for Microsoft Remote Desktop.
To take advantage of this update, ensure that AppsAnywhere Client 2.7.0 (or later) is installed and that your "Windows Virtual Desktop (Win)" version is set to 2.x.x or later.
Note: AppsAnywhere Client 2.7.0 must be installed before deploying or using Windows App, as support for Windows App is only introduced in this version.
Important Notes
-
For managed Windows deployments, ensure you deploy AppsAnywhere Windows Client 2.7 (or above) alongside Windows App to maintain compatibility.
-
The Remote Desktop app for Windows is no longer receiving security updates. We recommend transitioning to Windows App and uninstalling Remote Desktop where possible.
-
Please note that AppsAnywhere will not automatically remove the Remote Desktop app.
-
If both Remote Desktop and Windows App are installed, AppsAnywhere will prioritise Windows App by default. Remote Desktop will only be used when both the Minimum Version and Current Version are explicitly set to Remote Desktop (1.x.x).

Omnissa Horizon Client Support
AppsAnywhere Client 2.7.0 includes updates to reflect the rebranding from VMware to Omnissa.
When interacting with either VMware or Omnissa clients, these will now be consistently displayed as "Horizon Client" within AppsAnywhere.
Updated Client Installer
Updates have been made to the AppsAnywhere Client Installer (MSI) to ensure the "Content Created" field reflects the correct date.
